Know Before You Go

The entire staff of the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa welcome you to the luxurious, Old-World surroundings of our historic resort on Tampa Bay. Whether you're rejuvenating at our world-class spa or relaxing by one of our Espiritu Santo natural mineral spring-fed pools, we know you'll find the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa to be a one-of-a-kind travel destination.

Check-in and Check-out

Guest check-in is guaranteed by 4 p.m. each day. 

If your room is clean, inspected and ready for an early check-in, we will be happy to provide you with immediate access.  If you arrive and your room is not ready to be occupied, we would be happy to check your luggage with the bell staff allowing you access to enjoy the resort and spa amenities until your room is ready.  You must be 18 years of age to rent a room.  Proper ID is required at time of check in.

At check-in you will be asked to confirm your check out date.  Check-out should be no later than 11 a.m. on your day of departure.  We may be able to extend the courtesy of a late check-out if our occupancy is low for the next day.  In most cases, however, we need you to check-out on time so we have an opportunity to clean the guestroom properly for the guest arriving that day.  We will not be able to tell you upon arrival if we will be able to extend your check-out.  You will need to check with the Front Desk staff on the morning of your check-out date. 

If a late check-out is available the following fees would apply:

12 p.m. - No additional charge  |  12 p.m. - 3 p.m. - $75.00*

Any stay after 3:00 pm you will be charged a full night’s room and tax.

Smoking Policy

All units are non-smoking. Please use the outside balcony with the balcony door to the unit closed, or a designated smoking area outside of the hotel.  A $250.00 cleaning fee will be applied if smoke is detected in your guestroom. Please be courteous to those guests on adjoining balconies.


Pets are not allowed in our guestrooms. If pets are noted in a guestroom, you will be charged a cleaning fee of $250.00.

Registered support animals are permitted to assist persons with disabilities. 

Resort Amenity Fee

RESORT AMENITY FEE - All reservations are subject to a non-negotiable, per room, per night, $22 Resort Amenity Fee (not applicable to most group reservations) that gives you unlimited use of the spa facilities and fitness classes.


*No one under 16 years of age is allowed into the spa and fitness facilities. This includes the indoor pool and outdoor lap pool.

Your nightly $22 Resort Amenity charge includes the following:
Wireless in-room internet access; Admission to our Spa & Fitness Center that includes: unlimited use of steam rooms, sauna, whirlpools, co-ed indoor pool and outdoor exercise / lap pool, unlimited fitness and aerobic classes, unlimited access to cardiovascular and weight training studios, men’s and women’s locker rooms with private lockers, lounges, robes, slippers, showers and grooming amenities; Unlimited local, 800 and credit card calls in the guest rooms, use of the Business Center including use of copier (up to 20 copies at no charge), unlimited faxing (domestic only, not international), and use of the internet (up to 45 minutes per session), in-room coffee and in-room safes (in most rooms).

A Few Other Items




Package rates were applicable do not include service charges for spa services or food and beverage and will be added at 18% at the time services are rendered. Al la Carte Spa services will also be subject to an 18% service charge upon completion of service. Please keep in mind your reservation is confirmed with your credit card deposit equal to your 1st nights room and tax which will guarantee the first night of your reservation.

If you find it necessary to cancel or change your reservation, you must do so 72 hours or more prior to the reserved date of arrival by 4:00 p.m. If a cancellation or change is made within three days of your arrival, you will forfeit the first night's room rate with all applicable taxes, full deposit for Advance Purchase programs.

We recommend making appointments for spa and/or salon services at least 4-6 weeks in advance to ensure you will receive the times and services you desire. Please note: Advance reservations are required for all spa services, we are unable to accommodate walk-ins. Spa appointments can be scheduled online HERE. Please note if services are unable to be booked online, there is no availability for that timeframe. We are currently booking 3-4 weeks in advance. ALL services MUST be secured with a credit card at the time of booking. Another credit card or gift card may be used upon check in.

We appreciate your understanding that phone calls and emails will be returned within 72 hours. We will make every effort to accommodate any special room requests based on availability.
